Danville, Ill. - Nine players from Principia Coach Pete Paciorek's Summer Wood Bat League team were chosen in the recent 2010 Major League Baseball draft.
From the 2008 team (14-9), Matt Bywater (Pepperdine) taken in the 7th round by Baltimore, Austin Ross (LSU) in the 8th by Milwaukee, Zach Walter (San Diego) in the 9th by Arizona, Tyler Hess (Pepperdine) by Atlanta in the 19th, and Johnny Dishon (LSU) in the 42nd by Milwaukee.
2007 Dans chosen include, A.J. Griffin (San Diego) in the 13th by Oakland, James Meador (San Diego) in the 21st by Detroit, Tyler Whitney (Mississippi State) in the 34th by Seattle, and Kevin Cahill (Purdue) in the 41st by Washington.
During the three summers that Coach Paciorek coached in Danville, more than 20 players were selected in the annual draft by Major League Organizations.
