Top-ten steeplechase performance
Drew Clark runs second fastest 1500-meter run in school history
The men's team traveled to the Dr. Keeler Invitational to race on the fast, famed track at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

Sophomore Drew Clark started the action for the men's team on a cool, sunny afternoon at the Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium in front of a packed field of great milers with one thing on their minds, running a national qualifying mark in the 1500-meter run. Clark started in the middle of the pack in his section of the meet. He slowly advanced through the field from lap two to lap three. In his final 300 meters, he sprinted to the front, breaking away from the field in the final 100 meters for a dramatic finish that had fellow athletes, fans and spectators on their feet. He crossed the line in 3:53.56 which places him right behind right behind Principia College's 1977 All-American Merid Dates at the second spot on the top-ten performance list.

In other action, senior Justin Sinichko was on pace to a personal best in the 3000-meter steeplechase, but had to pull up and stop after hitting a steeple barrier.

Both Sinichko and Clark will return to North Central College for the Gregory Invitational on Friday, May 21. They will be joined by teammate freshmen Jake Meier and Sam Nickell who will both compete in the 800-meter run in hopes of running personal bests in the half-mile.
