Click on the video below to see the record-breaking mile race by sophomore Drew Clark.
Drew Clark was revved for the men's mile race on Saturday, February 7 at Illinois College. This is not to be his last race over the mile distance. He broke Kevin Capp's mile record set in 1992 (4:22.85) by running a 4:20.69.
Clark led the entire race from the gun to the final lap bell and finish with a strong kick over the last 200 meters outdistancing and outpacing his closest competitor from Greenville College by 9 seconds (over 100 meters), leaving no sign of hesitation to put all of himself into the race.
Clark travels with his teammates to DePauw University on Saturday, February 13, this year's site for the NCAA Division III National Indoor Track & Field Championships. This will be a meet full of hot races and great talent to put themselves to the test against one another one month out from the indoor national meet. It should be a fairly exciting meet and should be full of fast times for the indoor season.
